Cradle Roll Curriculum (Ages 6-24 months)

I've had several people request this curriculum! In a previous post is a list of supplies needed, so be sure and check it out! I don't know the tune to some of these songs. I make up a tune to the one's I don't know. If you have extra time left over after teaching this curriculum, you can use the Softees Curriculum from 21st Century Christian. Information about the Softees Curriculum is found in a previous post.

Cradle Roll Curriculum

Wind the Clock!  Tell the children that our clock says it’s time for Bible Class!

Sing:  Tick tock goes the clock, it’s time for Bible class!  Tick tock goes the clock, it’s time for Bible class!  It’s time for Bible class, it’s time for Bible class. Tick tock goes the clock, it’s time for Bible class.

Every Sunday morning and every Wednesday night our boys and girls get ready to go to Bible class.  We wash our faces, brush our teeth, and comb our hair.

Sing: (Mulberry Bush tune) This is the way we wash our face, wash our face, wash our face. This is the way we wash our face to come to Bible class.  Repeat with brush our teeth and comb our hair.

Children you look so nice for Bible class.

Sing: (Mulberry Bush tune)  ______________, you’re a handsome little boy and God made you, God made you, God made you.  You’re a handsome little boy and God made you.  Learn to serve Him faithfully.

____________, you’re a pretty little girl and God made you, God made you, God made you.  You’re a pretty little girl and God made you.  Learn to serve Him faithfully.

Now… we’re all ready for Bible class…
__________, how did you come to class?  Did you ride a bicycle? (a horse, roller skates, a bus, etc.)

Sing: (Mulberry Bush tune) Did you come to Bible class in a car? Did you come to Bible class in a car?  Did you come to Bible class, did you come to Bible class, did you come to Bible class in a car?

Well – let’s all jump in our cars and go to Bible class!  We can’t start our cars without a key, can we?

Sing: (Mulberry Bush tune) This is the way we drive to class, drive to class, drive to class.  This is the way we drive to class, every Sunday morning (Wednesday night).

I’m so glad you came to class ___________ and _____________ and __________ and, etc…  Why did we come to class?  We came to learn about God and we learn about Him from the Bible.

Show children the Bible, let them touch it and turn pages “very carefully.”  This time is very important for showing the children how we love and treat our Bibles.  Encourage them to open and read with you.

Here is the Bible, God’s written word.  It tells us how He made us, it tells us how He loves us.  Here is the Bible, God’s Holy word.

Sing (B-I-B-L-E):  The B-I-B-L-E, yes that’s the Book for me, I stand upon the word of God, the B-I-B-L-E.  The B-I-B-L-E, yes that’s the Book for me, I stand upon the word of God, the B-I-B-L-E.

The Bible tells us that God made little babies.

Sing:  Dear baby, dear baby, we love you we do; dear baby, dear baby, and God loves you too.

And God gave babies someone to take care of them.  Mommy loves Daddy and takes care of him and Daddy loves Mommy and takes care of her.  Mommy and Daddy love their babies and take care of them.  This makes a happy family.

Sing:  God make may family just for me.  Mommy and Daddy and baby make three.  Whatever I may be when I grow up, I’ll be a Christian first, when I grow up.

If I should be a Mommy when I grow up, I’ll be a Christian Mommy when I grow up.  Whatever we will be when we grow up, we will be a Christian family when we grow up.

Let’s feed these hungry babies.

Sometimes Mothers get milk from cows to feed their babies.

Cows

Sing (Mulberry Bush Tune): God made the cows to give good milk, give good milk, give good milk.  God made the cow to give good milk.  Thank you God.

God know our every need doesn’t he?  And he made the cows give good milk for their babies and ours.

Show the children “Mr.  Penguin” who lives where it is very cold.  God gave him a nice warm coat to keep him warm.

Show “Mrs. Kangaroo” God gave her a nice pocket to carry her baby in.

Show “Mr. Honey Bee”God gave him wings to fly from flower to flower gathering nectar to make honey.

Sing (Mulberry Bush Tune):  God made bees to buzz like this, buzz like this, buzz like this.  God made bees to buzz like this, to buzz and buzz and buzz.

Sing:  I’m a buzzy little bee and God made me, God made me, God made me.  I’m a buzzy little bee and God made me.  I’m as happy as I can be.

Flowers

Bees fly to flowers gathering nectar for food.

Sing:  Flowers, flowers, God made the pretty flowers.  Red and yellow, pink, and blue God made the pretty flowers.

Rabbits

Sing: (Tune of Peter Cottontail) Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail hopping on his way to Bible class, telling every girl and boy come learn about God and Christian Joy Hippity hop, let’s go to Bible class.

Ducks

Here comes Mother Duck looking for her babies to take them to Bible class. _______________, have you seen my babies?  I don’t want want them to miss Bible class.  ___________, have you seen my babies?  __________, have you seen them?

Well, she found them.  Here comes Mother Duck bringing all her little ducks to class.

Line up little ducks, following Mother.

She teaches them to love God. To be good little ducks and to obey their Mommy and Daddy.

Sing:  Good little ducks say, “please,” good little ducks say, “thank you.”  Good little ducks say “please and thank-you” just like all good children do.

God also gave ducks special feet so they can swim in water.  Bring out a pan of water and let each child place a duck in water and watch the duck “swim.”

Sing: God made the ducks to swim like this, swim like this, swim like this. God made the ducks to swim like this, to swim and swim and swim.

God also made other animal families that swim.

Frogs

Sing:  God made the frogs to go “knee deep”, go “knee deep”, go “knee deep”.  God made the frogs to go “knee deep”, thank you God.

Sing: God made the frogs to hop like this, hop like this, hop like this.  God made the frogs to hop like this, to hop and hop and hop.

Let frogs swim in the water.

Sing: God made the frogs to swim like this, swim like this, swim like this.  God made the frogs to swim like this, to swim and swim and swim.

Do you know what other animal God made that swims in the water?  The fish!  God gave the fist a special tail so he can swim.

Fish

Let fish swim in the water.

Sing: God made the fish to swim like this, swim like this, swim like this.  God made the fish to swim like this, to swim and swim and swim.

Thank you God for all the animals and their families and all the babies and their families.

Do you know what else God made that we should thank him for every day?

Food

Sing:  Thank you God for the food we eat, thank you God.  Thank you God for the cookie sweet, thank you God.  Thank you God for our little teeth, thank you God.

Give each child a small snack.  Show how we fold our hands and bow our head and thank God for our food.

Dear God, thank you for our food.  Thank you for Bible class.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Roly Poly Bear

Look who’s here today.  Roly Poly Bear loves to come to class.  See how he rolls around, he is so happy!  Let’s all clap our hands for Mr. Roly Poly Bear and show him how happy we are too!

Sing:  If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.  If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.  If you’re happy and you know it, then your smile will surely show it.  If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands.

It’s so sad that some of our friends didn’t get to come today.

Telephones

Sing:  Where is ______________, where is_______________, did he (she) come, did he (she) come?  Oh! How we miss him (her), Oh!  How we miss him (her), did he (she) come, did he (she) come?

Let’s call them on the telephone.  Dial and ring the telephone.

Sing:  Hello ____________, Hello____________ won't you come, won't you come?  Oh! How we miss you.  Oh! How we miss you.  Won't you come, won't you come.

Now let's call (name of child who's present)

Sing:  Hello, hello, is ______________ at home? NO-o-o-o-o, he's (she's) right here in Bible class!

Well, it's about time for class to be over.  Haven't we had a good time!

Start the musical clock again.

Get the children ready to leave while singing "Jesus Loves Me" and "Jesus  Love the Little Children."

Be sure the thank parents for bringing their little one to Bible class and sanitize all toys with Lysol to keep germs away.
